The Villa

The main villa is a 500 sq. meter hacienda-style home. The villa’s elegant mission style comes with all modern conveniences and appliances, thoughtfully designed for comfortable living. There are many custom and artistic accents throughout the villa. Living under vaulted ceilings, this open, airy villa is well suited for hosting casual or sophisticated gatherings in a unique combination of rustic and Latin American styles with custom made furnishings further embellished with antiques and collectibles.

The villa at Hacienda La Maya is a unique one-of-a-kind home. A lot of thought, imagination and care has been showered on every detail. Artists and designers collaborated in the unique decoration, enhanced by the world-traveled owners’ collections. Designed with a large family in mind, the house has six spacious bedrooms, each with unique custom-designed tile, painting, and decoration. Each bedroom has a private bathroom, douche and shower, closets and individual air conditioning. Several bedrooms are currently used as offices.

Dining Areas. There are large formal and informal dining areas designed for special events, large families, reunions and/or a wedding. Staff for parties and service can be provided by the surrounding neighbors as most staff live within walking distance of the villa.

Grand Salon. The villa’s grand salon includes a home theater system, numerous lounging, reading, and game playing areas.

Chef’s Kitchen. Designed for a gourmet experience, the large fully–equipped kitchen and walk-in pantry make for grandiose entertaining. Beautiful new cabinetry with pull-out shelves are a joy.

Professional chef series refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, disposal, gas cook-top & oven. Additional pantry and storage area off the kitchen, as well as an herb garden near back entrance. Washer & Dryer on the back covered terrace with worktable, laundry sink and recycling area.

Outdoor kitchen with grill, paella cooking pit, granite counter-tops and a small sink. Everyone loves a BBQ. The outdoor cooking and prep area actually gets more use than our indoor kitchen! Lighted and close to the bar and pool, with multiple patios to choose from.

‘Bohio’ Cocktail and snack bar. This is a simple wonderful area for entertainment and relaxation.

The cocktail bar is covered with traditional thatch roof, has lights and fans for those sultry evenings.

Pool. Swimming pool with fountain and heated hot tub. In this tropical climate the Jacuzzi jets are enough, you don’t even need to turn on the heater most of the time! Custom designed outdoor shower near the Jacuzzi. A dining area is under a flowering arbor next to the pool.

Golf practice green. Lighted golf putting green and driving range. Made to professional specifications by La Maya’s previous owner who was an avid golfer, competing in international tournaments!

The Arts Center, for meeting & events. The is the perfect facility to use as an art studio, yoga space, or to offer courses, workshops, meetings. 300 sq. meters of space, divided into three large rooms. Air conditioned. Indoor and outdoor work spaces, includes work sinks, a full bathroom w/ shower and parking.

Fully equipped workshop and farm equipment storage area. Approximately 200 sq. meters. Built-in shelving, large storage area, two sinks, electricity (both 110 and 220 AC), covered parking areas.

Horses & hiking trails. Hacienda La Maya has four horses, 4 stables, tack room, and feed room to enjoy the local countryside by horseback (also convenient for surveying all the growing progress on the farm!)

Know what you eat! Raising your “our own” food. The current owners raise their own small animals for their own consumption of meat and eggs. Lamb, rabbits, and ducks are housed and raised in a special enclosure.

Close to it “all”. There are excellent local bars, restaurants, beauty spas, gourmet shopping, farmers market, building, auto, and home supplies all within a 10 minute drive. Two guest houses (casitas)

2. Located up a hill behind the main villa, is another completely independent, self-sufficient guest casita. Custom designed and built by the owners, this casita is a private escape that offers spectacular views of the volcano and cooler breezes due to its elevated location. Guests enjoy this casita for its modern, peaceful, simple and private aspects.
